Description
The Nebraska Agriculture Projects Lead develops, manages, and implements agricultural conservation projects, plans, and methods in the Nebraska landscape. They establish and advance relationships and communications with Nebraska farmers and local stakeholders working towards achieving conservation goals in agriculture. They will help with the projects’ scientific activities, assisting the science team in gathering on-farm data through conversations with farmers, surveys, and/or collecting agronomic data from the fields (e.g., soil and tissue samples).
Qualifications
- Experience working with the agricultural community. - Experience with current trends and practices in conservation and agriculture – especially nutrient management, irrigation management, and soil health principles. - Experience with data management skills, including interpreting data and generating reports to communicate to non-scientific stakeholders. - Experience completing tasks independently with respect to timeline(s). - Experience communicating with the public and/or media both in writing and verbally. - Fluency via written, spoken, and graphical means in English. - Experience with planning, administering and recording results of work team meetings and activities - Experience using applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Web Browsers. - A valid driver’s license
