- Brief Ranch Description: The W6 Ranch is a family run ranch in Camp Wood, TX that implements native wildlife and range management practices integrated with exotic game programs and livestock. Job Description We are looking for one or two hardworking individuals to assist with ranch and wildlife management techniques and summer projects for the summer of 2023. You will be required to work closely with an experienced and knowledgeable ranch manager to orchestrate daily tasks, but also work effectively alone. The ranch is in a remote and beautiful location near Camp Wood, TX with little cell phone service. These individuals need to be motivated and passionate about ranch life and animals. On-site housing included. We will facilitate the proper steps if an internship or wildlife management plan are required to be completed for school credits. Ideally work will take place Monday-Friday although some time on weekends and evenings may be required to fulfill responsibilities to animals and projects. Employment period is from middle of May to middle of August with some flexibility based on school. ***Please send cover letter, resume, and 3 references via email. ***W6ranchshare@gmail.com Duties to include but not limited to: • Assisting Ranch Manager with day to day operations and projects around the ranch • General ranch work. • Assist with new livestock program • Maintaining ranch facilities, fences, equipment, and vehicles • Predator control practices • Operating feed truck to feed animals • Cutting Firewood • Keeping all compound grounds cleaned and mowed • Cedar and other invasive rangeland species removal
- Qualifications
- Qualifications include but not limited to: • Must be able to pass background check and drug screening • US citizen • Valid Driver’s license • Must be able to lift and carry 50lbs • Must be able to work without supervision and as a team • Exhibits good communication and time management skills • Willing to make suggestions and discuss ideas, and observations with owners. • Enjoy interacting with coworkers, owners, vendors, and ranch visitors. • Must have a passion for ranch life, animals, and animal husbandry • Experience with hand tools, power tools, trailers, and other ranch equipment • Must be able to tolerate Texas summer heat. • Be willing to learn and accept constructive criticism while acquiring skills with hands on experience. • Willing to work long hours and weekends if necessary.
